CHALLENGES
The job was on a tight schedule and involved the complexities of working in a high-profile public space handling major noise and dust restrictions, as well as being highly visible.
OUTCOME AND IMPACT
Overall, the project was a success. We managed to complete the works hitting our targeted deadlines for both stages 1 and 2, as well as keeping within our budget. The impact for the client was significant as the main entrance to the centre was disrupted and a major public bus terminal had to be closed down. We managed temporary solutions for public access in an ongoing changing situation while keeping everyone safe at the same time.
TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATIONS
The designers went for a modern look using classic products in creative ways to achieve a final design fit for a commercial bus terminal that complemented the fact it was located within a major high-end shopping centre. The technology was completely upgraded with state-of-the-art electronic signage that was controlled by TMR live bus service scheduling, and new ticket machines were installed using internet and data for modern and live connectivity.
